Position Summary
King's Way Church, an Assemblies of God-affiliated (AG) church, seeks a passionate and skilled Worship Pastor to lead our congregation in vibrant English, Spanish, and bilingual worship. The Worship Pastor will oversee all aspects of the worship ministry, fostering an inclusive and spiritually enriching environment that aligns with our church’s mission to serve a diverse and growing community. This role requires basic proficiency in Spanish and English, alignment with AG doctrine (AG credentialing or willingness to pursue), and a college-level degree in music, worship arts, ministry, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership: Plan and lead worship services in Spanish, English, and on occasions bilingual, creating engaging and culturally relevant experiences that draw the congregation into God’s presence.
Production Oversight: Oversee the audio, video, and lighting (AVL) ministries to ensure high-quality production for both in-person and online streaming experiences.
Creative Direction: Collaborate on stage design, background visuals (ProPresenter), and environmental aesthetics to create a cohesive visual atmosphere.
Digital Presence: Assist in creating worship-related content for social media (e.g., setlists, devotionals, worship moments) to engage the congregation throughout the week.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members (vocalists, musicians, and tech crew), fostering a collaborative and spiritually grounded team.
Service Planning: Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and staff to design worship services that align with sermon themes, church vision, and the church’s doctrine.
Next Gen Development: Create a "worship pipeline" by actively mentoring youth and young adults, perhaps overseeing a youth band to raise up the next generation of worship leaders.
Administration: Manage worship ministry budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring excellence and efficiency.
Special Event Coordination: Lead the musical and creative planning for major church events such as Christmas, Easter, Nights of Worship, and outreach concerts.
Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance to worship team members and congregants, supporting the church’s broader pastoral ministry.
Qualifications
Spiritual Maturity: A deep, personal commitment to Christ, with a biblical lifestyle that reflects AG values and doctrine.
Language Proficiency: Intermediate to basic proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to produce worship services and communicate effectively in both settings.
Credentialing: Credentialed with the AG or willingness to pursue credentials.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in music, worship arts, ministry, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience leading worship and managing teams in a church setting.
Skills:
Strong vocal and/or instrumental abilities, with proficiency in leading worship.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Familiarity with worship planning software and audio-visual technology.
Ability to connect with diverse congregations and foster unity.
Character: Humble, teachable, and relational, with a heart for inclusivity and service.
