Solomon’s story begins with a humble request for wisdom to lead God’s people, which pleases God and results in blessings of wisdom, wealth, and honor. Over time, however, Solomon’s small compromises erode his character and lead him away from God. Solomon’s reflections in Ecclesiastes point us back to the truth that character is redeemed when we return to God’s way and choose wisdom daily.
